At Detour Dental, we want to keep our prices reasonable for everyone. That is why we decided to not participate with any insurance company.
What does this mean for the person with dental insurance?
We are so glad you asked! This means that our office will file your claim electronically for you. Once the benefits are received according to “out of network” guidelines, that claim is closed, and the planholder will pay any residual balance directly to our office.
What does this mean for the person without dental insurance?
We are glad you asked this too! This means that we do not have to raise our normal prices to offset losses incurred by dental insurance business techniques. In fact, see below for our in-house plan which is sure to be easiest on your wallet.
Detour Dental Plan
Our routine dental plan is designed to cover your standard needs. Pricing is $350 per year per adult and $275 for children 12 and under and includes:

I have been married to James for 12 years , mom to a beautiful 6-year-old girl, graduated from Virginia Western Community College, and live in Chatham, Virginia. I have been a dental hygienist since 2006. For fun, I love to spend time outdoors with my husband and our daughter. My favorite thing about working with our patients is that I feel like I'm their extended family. I enjoy helping patients who originally come in with dental anxiety and I can assist them in taking steps toward reaching dental health and comfort.
I grew up in Wytheville, Virginia, graduated from Wytheville Community College in 1998. In 2016 I obtained my certificate in anesthesia and nitrous oxide from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have two daughters, and live in Cave Spring, Virginia. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and reading. My favorite thing about working with patients Is the joy they share when they can smile with confidence.
I am married to Jeff (29 years), a mom of two (Adam and Holly), and Mimi of four (Grant, Ryder, Maesyn, and Brooklyn). I have been in dentistry since 2000. In my spare time, I am likely on the road with my husband and our Amish friends, somewhere along the East Coast, or at livestock shows with my family, supporting my grandson. I love helping my patients. I love seeing the outcomes and results of hard work and dedication to my job. I love seeing returning patients and welcoming our new ones.
I am engaged to Adam and a mom to Grant and Maesyn. I have been in dentistry since 2018. In my spare time, you can find me chasing my daughter around at my son‘s baseball games and livestock shows. We are on the go 24/7 with him and she tags right along and loves it! Meeting new people and providing excellent customer service are my favorite things about working with patients. Being the face patients see when they come in the door is one of my most important jobs. Providing a smiling face and confidence in the doctor, hygienists, and assistant are my main priorities. When you love what you do, it comes easily! There is nothing better than seeing a patient leaving while showing off a beautiful smile!
